NYFW Photographer Explains North West Crying Incident: Pictures

Thankfully he didn't make Nori's dad angry! On Saturday, Feb. 14, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West attended the Alexander Wang show for New York Fashion Week, sitting front row with their daughter North West, 19 months.

Unfortunately, the little girl got upset before the show and was photographed crying in her mom's lap. A source explained the incident to Us at the time, saying, "North had a moment for one second when she saw a photographer on the other side of the runway with a toy monkey that looked exactly like her favorite one at home."

The photographer, Kevin Tachman, eventually approached Nori and offered her the toy.

Tachman exclusively tells Us, "I brought the monkey to have fun with the models as I primarily shoot backstage, and it's always a good way to make the girls smile. Then I realized as word came that they were coming to sit front row that she may become fixated with it. I took the front row pics and all was fine but ended up shooting the show right across from them. So of course she wanted the toy." ?

The photographer took the Monkey Shutter Hugger toy off his camera so North wouldn't be distracted, and then gave her the animal backstage. "Kim was sweet and gracious when I gave her the monkey and made sure to get it back to me before she left," he says.

Tachman Instagrammed (@kevintachman) the toy monkey, writing, "The Culprit - #GuiltyAsCharged I am the Monkey holding photog ! :)"
